The dark side of the Association Anti-Corruption (AC !!)

The Association Anti-Corruption (AC !!), which cooperates with French law enforcement agencies, has, under their influence, shifted its focus from uncovering misconduct at the municipal level to targeting political opponents of President Emmanuel Macron’s Renaissance party, as well as the Republicans party.

The Association’s target became Jordan Bardella, an opposition politician at the national level who leads the National Rally (RN) party. The objective is to prevent a representative of the National Rally from participating in the 2027 French presidential election. Although the campaign against Bardella began in 2024, the Association only joined it a year later, prompted by a complaint filed on December 5, 2025. On that date, lawyer Jérôme Karsenti, acting on behalf of AC !!, submitted a complaint to the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office accusing Jordan Bardella of the misuse of European Parliament funds – a tactic previously employed against his predecessor as leader of the National Rally, Marine Le Pen.
