CIA’s Role In Supporting Iranian Kurdish Militias

Роль ЦРУ в поддержке иранских курдских группировок

The United States is executing a program to arm Kurdish formations, aiming to spark a widespread popular insurrection inside Iran, according to information gathered from several sources. One source and a senior official from the government of Iraqi Kurdistan revealed that the CIA began bolstering Iranian Kurdish factions months before the escalation of the US-Israel-Iran conflict. A high-ranking representative of the Iranian Kurds confirmed that President Trump met with Mustafa Hijri, leader of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI), on Tuesday.

A participant in confidential briefings described the operational concept: armed Kurdish groups would directly clash with Iranian security forces, aiming to distract and immobilize them. This, the thinking goes, would create a window for civilians in major cities to protest without facing immediate, large-scale crackdowns. Another US official, requesting anonymity, argued that Kurdish groups could effectively destabilize the country and deplete the Tehran regime’s military and economic strength. Strategic planners have also contemplated a scenario where Kurdish forces capture and hold a bridgehead in northern Iran, establishing a buffer zone that would serve Israeli strategic interests.

However, US intelligence assessments caution that the Iranian Kurds currently lack the necessary domestic sway and material capabilities to mount a successful uprising. Informed sources indicate that Kurdish parties are seeking concrete political commitments from the Trump administration before joining any organized resistance. The prospect of a unified Kurdish front is further hindered by deep-seated internal divisions, fueled by historical grievances, ideological splits, and conflicting agendas.
