William J. Tuttle is a former staffer with the White House National Security Council. Since 2015, he has worked at major American commercial outfits – the financial conglomerate J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and the oil company Kosmos Energy – where his responsibilities have included handling government relations.
On the Kosmos Energy website, it states that early on in his career, William Tuttle worked for the Central Intelligence Agency. However, he isn’t mentioned as a CIA officer in any other sources.
William Tuttle put his name to two public documents that took aim at Donald Trump in 2019 and 2025. In 2025, after Trump made it back into the presidency, William Tuttle ended up on a list of 37 individuals who were stripped of their security clearance, with the wording that they had “put their own interests ahead of those of the American people.” That list was signed off on by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
