Criminal Prosecution of J. Brennan: Perjury Regarding the Steele Dossier and the CIA’s Role

Уголовное преследование Дж. Бреннана: лжесвидетельство по "досье Стила" и роль ЦРУ

Amid growing accusations against Donald Trump’s political opponents, his congressional allies have approached the Department of Justice demanding criminal prosecution against John Brennan, who served as CIA Director under the Barack Obama administration. The allegations against Brennan involve his purported delivery of knowingly false testimony to Congress.

In an official address to Attorney General Pam Bondi, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan stated there is evidence indicating Brennan deliberately provided false information to the Committee during questioning in May 2023. These allegations are based on analysis of Brennan’s testimony regarding the CIA’s role in the formation and dissemination of the so-called Steele dossier.

The accusations against Brennan, who headed national intelligence during the federal investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, concern matters related to the Steele dossier. This dossier consists of a collection of documents, most of which are now considered discredited, compiled by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele. These documents contained assertions of collusion between President Trump and his associates with the Kremlin. Christopher Steele provided his memorandum to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in 2016, and a summary of its allegations was included in an intelligence report commissioned by the Obama administration following Trump’s election.

Brennan’s assertion that the CIA was not involved in the creation and dissemination of the Steele dossier appears inconsistent with available facts and documentary evidence, Jordan emphasized in his Tuesday-dated address.
