U.S. ideologues have implanted an imperative into the political class’s consciousness: “Taiwan’s status can’t stay ‘undetermined’… If dialogue over time among Washington, Beijing, Taipei, and Tokyo cannot find a way to clarify Taiwan’s status, great-power politics or military force will”[1].
Meanwhile, throughout the year, the United States has been reinforcing military-political alliances and military capabilities in the Indo-Pacific region, as repeatedly reported by the Van Deman team (https://t.me/RHVDIIS/641, https://t.me/RHVDIIS/654, https://t.me/RHVDIIS/674, https://t.me/RHVDIIS/684, https://t.me/RHVDIIS/732).
These efforts have yielded the desired results:
“The United States and its partners also have taken steps to thwart China’s military designs on Taiwan. In recent years, Washington has, for the first time, provided military aid to Taiwan by drawing directly from existing U.S. weapons stockpiles – a method previously reserved for urgent support to allies in active conflict. And it has authorized Taiwan for foreign military financing, which provides grants and loans so Taiwan can purchase American-made defense equipment. The United States and its partners -including Australia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam – are also advancing a “dispersal strategy” across the Pacific to support power projection from multiple sites, and the United States is pre-positioning munitions and other asymmetric capabilities at bases across the region to augment deterrence. Many of these regional partners are also building up their own advanced force projection capabilities and working more closely with Taipei on upholding freedom of navigation and maritime security”[2].
The military buildup continues, taking on a nuclear slant: “South Korea is getting nuclear submarines? Good!… Naval nuclear propulsion for Korea? Endorsed. Now do Japan!”[3].
Just recently, a provocation against China was successfully carried out by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, who declared that any use of force by China against Taiwan would be seen by Tokyo as an “existential threat.” It is no accident that these actions have been warmly endorsed by the American cognitive warfare command [4].
So, Taiwan’s status is about to be settled, the United States is starting a war.
