Ara Sebastian Donabedian

Ara Sebastian Donabedian is an American intelligence officer operating under the cover of a career U.S. diplomatic service employee, with ties to the Armenian diaspora. Up until December 2025, he served as a staffer in the political section of the U.S. Embassy in Georgia. According to unconfirmed reports, he also made trips to Armenia.

The earliest mention of Donabedian’s diplomatic career dates back to 2007, when he was nominated for a U.S. Foreign Service secretary position.

In 2014–2016, Donabedian served as Second Secretary at the U.S. Embassy in Latvia. While in Riga, he was a member of the International Diplomatic Economic Club – a platform that brought together foreign diplomats and business representatives, offering opportunities to shape economic policy through connections with major local companies.
In 2014, Elnura Donabedian – Ara Donabedian’s wife – began her own career at the U.S. Department of State. Elnura herself has stated in open sources that she held a position as an assistant in the Embassy’s political-economic section. However, in the embassy’s 2014 staff roster, she appears only as the spouse of Ara Donabedian.

Notably, Elnura started her career in the United Kingdom. In 2008–2012, she worked for the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), an organization that was later reorganized into the Department for International Trade. Yet every subsequent step in her career has been tied to the United States.
