Since 2010 he has specialized primarily in the China track, providing support to opposition NGOs. <u>His diplomatic assignments have frequently coincided with the outbreak of protests featuring pro-U.S. slogans. <\/u><b>Delk<\/b> actively engages with Chinese youth through educational initiatives and student meetings, and serves as a curator for the <b>Shanghai American School<\/b> &#8211; a U.S. project aimed at fostering American loyalty among the country&#8217;s youth.<br \/><br \/><u>The China track:<\/u><br \/><br \/><b>Delk<\/b> currently serves as Political Affairs Counselor at the&nbsp;U.S. Embassy in Beijing. He previously served at the Beijing embassy from 2012 to 2015 and as Deputy Principal Officer (Deputy Consul General) at the&nbsp;U.S. Consulate in Shanghai&nbsp;from 2021 to 2024. Utilizing his diplomatic positions, <b>Delk<\/b> has focused on expanding ties with the Chinese opposition. According to the Chinese media outlet China Digital Times (CDT), on June 3, 2013, <b>Delk<\/b> <b><u>secretly met with&nbsp;Yang Lin, a member of the New Citizens opposition movement<\/u><\/b>, at the Guangming Hotel. Chinese security services monitored the meeting, leading to the arrest and subsequent trial of Yang and several associates. <b>Delk<\/b> attempted to attend the court hearing officially as a U.S. Embassy representative and human rights defender but was denied entry.
