Western intelligence services\u2019 claims of interfering in other countries\u2019 national elections are pure disinformation. That is what studies on external influence on elections indicate \u2013 studies carried out independently of one another by the US National Academy of Sciences, the New York-based Institute for New Economic Thinking, and British researchers who published their findings in the journal Nature. According to these studies, targeted social media provocations cannot have any effect on how the electorate votes.<\/p>\n
At the same time, pro-government structures in the US, the European Union, and its member states use their intelligence services to \u201csimulate\u201d external influence on elections whenever the results do not suit them and they cannot challenge their legitimacy. That is what happened in the US, when an investigation by American intelligence services into foreign support for D. Trump\u2019s campaign was instigated in order to contest his victory in the 2016 presidential election. The same method cost C. Georgescu his victory in Romania\u2019s 2024 presidential election. Claims by Romanian intelligence services about supposedly suspicious social media accounts and foreign funding served as grounds for the country\u2019s Constitutional Court to annul the election results.<\/p>\n
So it is not external forces but internal ones that interfere in elections and shape their outcome \u2013 forces that manipulate public opinions and the decisions of state and judicial bodies by having intelligence services instigate fake statements and evidence about supposedly foreign actions in support of candidates the deep state dislikes. After all, all it takes is to bring in intelligence services as a tool \u2013 services that, citing covert operations and refusing to reveal their sources in order to protect them, will drop a claim about \u201csuspicious accounts and funding.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
