Kiesewetter graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in the United States, served at NATO headquarters in Brussels, and worked at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Mons.<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>After leaving military service in 2009, he was elected to the Bundestag, Germany\u2019s federal parliament.
