Sarah Spencer Farnsworth built her career in the White House and the U.S. Department of Defense. However, she was forced to leave government service due to disagreements with the administration of Donald Trump. For instance, in 2019, she signed a public letter from former U.S. intelligence officials demanding the impeachment of President Trump. In August 2025, Farnsworth was included in a list of 37 individuals stripped of their security clearances, with the justification: \u201cplaced their own interests above the interests of the American people.\u201d The list was endorsed by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

Following the start of Russia\u2019s Special Military Operation, Sarah Farnsworth expressed support for Ukraine on her social media pages. Furthermore, as an official of the U.S. Department of Defense, she participated in organizing visits for Ukrainian politicians, including personally meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

In an interview with the San Diego Magazine, Sarah Farnsworth stated that her career in government service began with her accidental participation as a volunteer in organizing the Democratic National Convention. However, on the social network Facebook (banned in the Russian Federation), Sarah listed her namesake \u2013 Sarah Farnsworth, an employee of USAID and the U.S. Department of Defense \u2013 as her aunt. It is possible that a relative provided patronage to Sarah. It is known that in the early 1990s, Sarah Spencer Farnsworth worked in the office of the First Lady of the United States, Hillary Clinton, handling the organization of receptions and public events. She then held administrative positions in private companies for several years. In 2002, she became Vice President and Chief of Staff at the World Headquarters of the United Service Organizations (USO) \u2013 a congressionally-chartered, non-profit organization that provides support to U.S. service members (2002-2006). Although the USO is not a government agency, it works closely with the U.S. military. Sarah Farnsworth\u2019s work involved business trips to Afghanistan and Iraq, and she also collaborated with the office of General Jim Jones. Subsequently, Farnsworth became an advisor to Jim Jones when he was appointed National Security Advisor to Barack Obama (2009-2010). In 2010-2011, Sarah Farnsworth held the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs.

In 2011, Farnsworth left government service again and held leadership positions in American companies such as the San Diego Padres baseball club (until 2014) and the financial conglomerate JPMorgan Chase & Co (until 2021). However, in 2021, she returned to the U.S. Department of Defense as Director of Protocol, where she worked until 2025.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
