The intelligence agency reports having obtained information suggesting that various entities, operating under the guise of a foreign state\u2019s special services, are attempting to pressure Armenian citizens and diaspora members engaged in business overseas.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, this coercion aims to force these individuals into extending financial and organizational backing to particular political factions planning to contest the upcoming election.<\/p>\n
“The Foreign Intelligence Service has received information indicating that in one foreign country, various entities representing that state\u2019s intelligence services are seeking to pressure individuals of Armenian descent and citizens of the Republic of Armenia conducting business within that jurisdiction. The objective is to induce them to support specific political forces that have announced their intention to participate in Armenia\u2019s forthcoming parliamentary elections. These efforts encompass, among other things, compelling these individuals to provide financial and organizational assistance to such political groups,” an excerpt from the Foreign Intelligence Service\u2019s statement reads.<\/p>\n
