Jamia Shere Jowers, held administrative positions within the Obama administration – both during his time serving in the U.S. Senate and subsequently as the U.S. President. As a steadfast supporter of Barack Obama, in 2019, Jamia Jowers co-signed an open letter published by The Washington Post, alongside another 148 African Americans who were then-federal employees. In the letter, Barack Obama \u2013 the author \u2013 charged the incumbent President at the time, Donald Trump, with racism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia.

Following Trump\u2019s return to the Oval Office in 2025, Jowers reportedly lost access to classified U.S. materials. This declassification was noted on August 19, 2025 within a Memorandum from the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), which listed her among 37 individuals barred from sensitive information. Interestingly, the name \u2018Jamie S. Jowers\u2019 \u2013 which is only one letter away from Jamia S. Jowers \u2013 appears in the DNI document for this individual, whose role is described as former intelligence and policy advisor.

Currently, Ms. Jowers maintains no official government employment but possesses a reputation as an advocate for human rights and as an expert commentator on U.S. national security matters, specializing in themes pertaining to ethnic minorities\u2019 protection and combating racial inequality. Her efforts are directed towards promoting American foreign policy objectives that utilize the country\u2019s soft power instruments.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
